I am certainly glad you are here My name is Curtiss Brown
My Grandmothers name was Monaghan. She was the granddaughter of Catherine Walsh who immigrated to the United States from Ireland before the civil war. Her sons fought in the civil war and her daughter, Catherine married a confederate soldier named Michael Monaghan. They moved to Houston and my grandmother (Ruby) was born there.
My mother, Catherine, was born in Houston and I was born there in 1948.

I work for the County of Galveston. I moved to Galveston during graduate school at Sam Houston State University. I have lived here 26 years. One of the things that the web lacks is good information on local government. Maybe I will try to correct that here. www.fortunecity.com
